After reviewing the ‘Chocolate Bar’ palette I decided to review the Too Faced ‘Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar’ palette today.
The palette starts with packaging that looks like a tasty milk chocolate bar, with pink and gold writing, again it being a metal tin the magnet clasp is strong and very unlikely to open easily unless you apply force. Once again when you open the palette the smell of sweet chocolate meets you. A medium mirror fills the inside of the lid, surrounding by writing. While the 16 shades are arranged in three rows, two shades have larger pans (Coconut Creme and Butter Pecan, ideal again as base shades), it has an array of warm caramels, bronzy hues, deep mochas, while a pop of colour in a shimmery blue. This palette was inspired by the ‘Chocolate Bar’ palette, except this palette has warmer and deeper shades. The finishes include both Matte and Shimmer, each shade is highly pigmented, making the colour pay off exceptional. This palette also came with their ‘How–To Glamour Guide’ showing three looks that can be created.
The shades include: (Left to Right, Top to Bottom) – Licorice, Coconut Creme, Nougat, Truffled, Hot Fudge, Cocoa Chili, Pink Sugar, Puddin’, Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter, Frosting, Rum Raisin, Mousse, Caramel, Bon Bon and Butter Pecan.
My favourites include: Licorice, Nougat, Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter and Butter Pecan.
My pros include – the aroma, come on who doesn’t like chocolate! The range of brown shades allows for so many neutral everyday looks to be created while the beautiful ‘Blueberry Swirl’ allows just a little splash of colour. Cons include – just like the ‘Chocolate Bar’ palette I’ve really struggled to find any, but again if I’m being mega picky I’d love to have a brush included.
In my opinion this Palette is ideal for any person who enjoys creating a dark yet neutral look. This palette is luxury from packaging to quality and pigmentation. Plus the chocolate aroma is delicious.
I’d love hearing from you, so please feel free to comment & let me know what you think of this palette.
As always, Thanks for reading! Until next time!
